June House of Delegates

House of Delegates

Many Thanks to In-Person and Virtual RDC Participants!

During this year’s Regional Delegate Conferences (RDCs), ASHP hosted eight in-person and virtual meetings over the course of four days! Over 200 delegates, Board members, and ASHP staff participated in lively debate of policy amendments, as evidenced by the ASHP Connect discussion posts. Delegates are currently working to turn those in-depth conversations into policy amendment language. If you haven’t had a chance yet, please let us know what you thought of the RDCs by taking this survey.

The lengthy discussion of potential amendments to policy recommendations at the RDCs is very encouraging, because the best strategy for amending a proposed policy is to gain consensus in advance. Discussion is the first step. In addition, we need delegates to step up and engage in the amendment process. If you are interested in proposing an amendment, please fill out this brief survey by Wednesday, May 14, so I can put you in touch with others interested in amending the same policy recommendation. Please note that you will have to fill out a new survey for each policy recommendation you wish to amend.

Based on the robust discussion of potential amendments on ASHP Connect and at the RDCs, I have made the decision to focus delegates’ time and attention on the amendment process rather than holding a virtual House of Delegates in May.

Registration for Pharmacy Futures Meeting and June House of Delegates

We will meet in person for the June House of Delegates meetings in Charlotte, North Carolina. Delegates and alternates must register to attend ASHP's 2025 Pharmacy Futures Meeting. Your participation as a delegate does not register you for this meeting. If you are a state delegate who will not be able to serve at the June House of Delegates, please notify your state affiliate executive right away to allow time for an alternate to be appointed.

Please note the times of the following events. Attendance at these events is an expectation of delegate service.
    • First Delegate Caucus: June 8, 9:30–11:30 a.m.
    • First Meeting of the House: June 8, 1–5 p.m.
    • Second Delegate Caucus: June 10, 12:15–2 p.m.
    • Second Meeting of the House: June 10, 4–6 p.m.
Please consult the meetings-at-a-glance for additional details regarding June House of Delegates events. The open forum for members and the delegate primer are highly recommended.

    ASHP-PAC Delegates Competition Kicks Off!

It’s that time of the year again! The House of Delegates Competition is ramping up, and now is your chance to help your state earn bragging rights.

Contributions made to ASHP’s political action committee (ASHP-PAC) between Jan. 1 and June 9 at 5 p.m. will count toward your state delegation’s participation in the competition. Recurring contributions made during the competition term will count 2x towards a state’s total. Delegates and alternates who contribute will receive an invitation to attend the ASHP-PAC donors luncheon during Pharmacy Futures in Charlotte.

ASHP-PAC gives pharmacists a strong voice on Capitol Hill and is a valuable tool in ASHP’s work to advance our public policy agenda.

Your contributions help ASHP educate members of Congress about the issues that matter to you, including protecting funding for pharmacy residency programs, safeguarding the 340B Drug Pricing Program, shoring up the drug supply chain, ensuring patient access to pharmacists’ services, and more.
For more information, check out the competition FAQ or contact ASHP's government relations staff at 301-664-8777 or gad@ashp.org.

    Best Regards,

    J Hogue Sig
