Results of the November Virtual House of Delegates

Thanks to all who voted in the recent virtual House of Delegates! I am pleased to share that the House voted to approve three policies:

• Safe Technology Implementation and Expansion of Pharmacist Services (CPhP)
• Health Care Quality Standards and Pharmacy Services (CPhP)
• ASHP Statement on the Pharmacist’s Role in Substance Use Disorder Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery (CPhP)

The following policy recommendation did not achieve the 85% threshold for approval and will be further considered by the House in 2026:

• Tobacco, Tobacco Products, and Non-Tobacco Nicotine Delivery Systems (COT)

Thinking Ahead to Next Year

Late November 2025 through January 2026, state affiliates will be accepting delegate nominations and conducting delegate elections for the 78th annual session of the ASHP House of Delegates. In February, the new slate of delegates will be on board to begin reviewing and deliberating policy recommendations. By that time, the policy recommendations that were drafted during Policy Week 2025 in September and duly considered by the Board in January will be posted on ASHP Connect. They will remain there until considered during the March, May, or June House of Delegates. Delegates should review the policy recommendations as early as possible once posted so that discussions can take place during spring state affiliate meetings and the Regional Delegate Conferences.

With the November virtual House of Delegates behind us, we will turn our attention to the 2026 session. I want to personally thank you for your participation and engagement in the various House of Delegates activities in 2025. We accomplished a lot!

For those of you who will continue as delegates in 2026, I look forward to working with you as we consider and debate the new policy recommendations on the agenda for future House of Delegates meetings. I will conduct a welcome webinar early next year to provide an overview of delegate responsibilities. Keep an eye out for my first Chair message of 2026 for more information.
